About the photographer

Allan Rasmussen, photographer

I work primarily with natural light, environmental presence, and patient observation. The photographs here are the clearest account of how I see.

Working method

Patient observation, natural light

I spend time with a scene before I photograph it, watching how light moves through a room or across a street. I prefer available light and an unhurried pace, which lets moments settle into the frame rather than being staged around it.

Composition is where I spend most of my attention: considered crops, spacious framing, and a restraint that keeps the subject clear. My aim is images that read honestly and hold up across a sequence.

Working together

Clear dialogue, editorial integrity

Every commission begins with a conversation about purpose, audience, and timing. I want to understand what the photographs need to do before I plan a single frame, so the work serves the publication or project rather than my own agenda.

I am available for local and travel assignments across editorial and commercial projects. If you have a project in mind, I am glad to hear about it and to talk through whether my work fits what you are planning.
